FAQ

The tool

How long does it run per charge?

Runtime depends on the DeWalt 20V MAX battery you pair with it, which is sold separately. A 2.0Ah pack comfortably handles a large yard on one charge; a higher-Ah pack covers all-day orchard work.

Will it cut hardwood or only green wood?

Both. The 800W brushless motor shears seasoned hardwood and green wood up to 50mm. For the densest branches near that limit, seat the branch at the base of the blade opening for the cleanest pass.

Is it safe for arthritic hands?

That's exactly who it was built for. A light trigger pull replaces the crushing grip a manual pruner demands, so the motor does the work instead of your hands.

Can smaller hands operate it?

Yes. The grip circumference suits a wide range of hand sizes and the trigger needs almost no force.

Batteries and parts

Which batteries does it use?

It's built for the DeWalt 20V MAX battery system, sold separately. Any genuine DeWalt 20V MAX pack slides straight in — there's no proprietary battery to hunt down.

Is a battery included?

No. Leaving the battery out keeps the price down and avoids lithium air-freight restrictions. Most buyers already own a DeWalt pack, and if you don't, they're available from any tool retailer.

What happens when the blade dulls?

Resharpen it, or swap it out in minutes. Spare SK5 blade sets are always in stock.
